What was new HBO star T.J. Miller doing at the crime scene of the shooting of a 7-year-old at D.C. playground?
It turns out he was preparing for another acting project.
The carrot-topped actor was on a ride-along with D.C. police Tuesday evening when police received a call for a shooting at apartment complex playground in the rough Park View neighborhood.
Miller, the scene-stealing stoner on the new hit series “Silicon Valley,” told police he was researching for a role in “Ride Along 2,” a planned sequel to the box office blockbuster, starring Kevin Hart and Ice Cube.
Miller and his publicist could not be reached Thursday.
Photojournalist Carlos Martinez, of NBC4, videotaped Miller standing in front of the crime scene tape. He posted an image of Miller on Twitter and pointed out a red stain on the front of the actor’s pants.
It was just paint, police said.
Miller was in the Washington area this week, touring the national monuments, performing stand-up and co-hosting the podcast “Cashing In With T.J. Miller.”
Miller has appeared in major motion films “Seeking a Friend for the End of the World,” “How to Train Your Dragon” and “Cloverfield.”
