Pedestrian killed by truck on D.C. bridge

A District of Columbia man has died from injuries he suffered after being struck by a truck on a bridge in Southeast Washington.

According to police, at about 6 a.m. Friday,  61-year-old Joseph Brown was walking in the right lane of the roadway on the John Phillip Sousa Bridge. The bridge connects Pennsylvania Avenue to Anacostia.

Brown was struck by a westbound 2006 Chevrolet truck. The driver stayed on the scene.

Brown was taken to a hospital where he died Monday.

This crash is currently under investigation.
